Things That Help Me as a Neurodivergent Music Therapist
Updated: Nov 4, 2022
This list will be updated periodically! I have ADHD, and I wasn't diagnosed until my mid 20s. I am constantly looking for resources and things to help navigate life as an adult, therapist, and business owner! Have suggestions? Send them my way!
These tags are AMAZING. They help me to remember to change my laundry, unload dishes, turn lights off, and more! I program them with the shortcuts app on my iphone. I use them to also help with setting the mood in my office, setting timers, and so so much more. Find the ones I have here: https://amzn.to/3SGr6L5
Timer Cube: This timer cube is AMAZING! It can toggle from showing the time to being a timer. I use this to help me navigate changing from task to task. Here is the link: https://amzn.to/3sXVmXd
Zipper Baggies: I use these to keep my visuals for different activities together. I would have them in ziplock baggies, but those always ended up tearing, or not protecting what I had inside. What I really love about these is that the large sizes fit most soft cover books inside along with visuals and activities. This really helps me keep my things organized, able to know what I have, and makes it really easy to grab and go without adding extra steps! Find them here: https://amzn.to/3T0Fu0R
Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones: These headphones have changed my life. I love to wear fun earrings and have a ton of piercings on my ears, so typical over the ear headphones can be uncomfortable. I love this set of headphones because not only do they actually cover my whole ear, they allow me to "turn off" outside noises while I'm working. They are pricey, but of the different models Bose offers, I have found that these have the best overall reviews. Here is the link: https://amzn.to/3T0Fu0R
Fridge Containers: I want to be one of those people who does the aesthetic restock of the fridge each week, but that is just not in the cards for me. I use these to put ingredients into for my weekly meals! This helps me to stay organized and not accidentally snack on something that I need for a recipe I have planned. I even sometimes put the recipe in the bin with it. Total game changer! Find the ones I have here: https://amzn.to/3sXo7mU
