Katelyn Blankenburg, MMT, MT-BC, NMT™, CDP

Hello! I’m Katelyn Blankenburg, a passionate board-certified music therapist proudly serving the Houston area. With a Bachelor's in Music Therapy from Sam Houston State University and a Master's in Music Therapy from Loyola University New Orleans, I am dedicated to helping individuals through the power of music. My thesis, titled "Burnout, an Exploration into Music Therapy Student Stress," reflects my deep commitment to understanding and supporting those in the field. I also completed my Neurologic Music Therapy® training in 2019 and continue to uphold this distinction. In 2025 I completed training to become a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP).

In addition to my private practice, I have the privilege of being a Clinical Professor of Music Therapy at Sam Houston State University. I teach lower and upper level music therapy courses and supervise practicum students, conduct entrance and exit interviews, and coordinate the clinical placements for all music therapy students. Sam Houston is not my first time working with college students, I have also supervised practicum students for Duquesne and had interns from various schools.

I'm a person-centered eclectic therapist, meaning I focus on your unique needs and tailor each treatment plan to ensure the best possible outcomes. No person, diagnosis, or journey is alike, so music therapy treatment can't be the same from person to person! I truly care about my clients' well-being and am committed to providing the highest quality treatment.

I’m deeply passionate about both music therapy and people. I completed my internship at TIRR Memorial Hermann in The Woodlands and have worked with people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. I have worked in home, inpatient psych, outpatient physical rehabilitation, in neurorehabilitation, hospice, memory care, in schools, and more.

Today, I have the privilege of working with clients of all ages and diagnoses in areas like Cypress, Tomball, Spring, Magnolia, The Woodlands, Conroe, Katy, Rosenberg, Sugar Land, Missouri City, and more! I provide both in person and telehealth services.
